The third round of the Supersport world championship took place today at Motorland Aragon, near Alcaniz in Spain. In yesterday’s Superpole, Christian Gamarino, riding for the Bardahl Evan Bros. Honda Racing Team, obtained tenth place and so today he lined up on the third row of the grid, in a race that took place in sunny but windy conditions, with cool temperatures.

Gamarino made a very quick start which immediately saw him move into seventh place. Towards mid-race, Christian progressed to fifth position, also due to crashes for riders ahead of him. In the final phase, the Bardahl Evan Bros. Honda Racing Team rider battled in the chasing group, just behind the three leaders, and crossed the line in seventh place.

The next round of the Supersport world championship is scheduled to take place over the weekend of 28-30 April at Assen in The Netherlands.

Christian Gamarino: “I’m quite pleased with my race. Both yesterday and this morning, in warm-up, we had a few problems that also came up in the race and so, considering how the previous races went, I preferred not to take any risks and bring home this seventh-place finish and nine points. I started strong and remained part of the front group but in the final stage, with used tyres, I had to reduce my pace. I want to thank my team as they’ve worked really hard this weekend”.
